Sheriff's deputies arrested a Washington, D.C., motorist shortly after midnight Thursday after he rear-ended another vehicle at a stoplight in Ashburn and fled the scene, according to a police report. Ivar M. Cox, 36, was charged with felony hit and run, possession of marijuana and being drunk in public, the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said Friday.

Rescuers are searching for a worker missing after a silo collapsed and spilled tons of debris at a Loudoun County quarry. Loudoun County Fire Department spokeswoman Laura Rinehart says the 80-foot silo partially collapsed at the Luck Stone Leesburg Quarry in Ashburn on Monday morning, spilling a fine material called mineral filler.

The Loudoun County police are working to track down the man who exposed himself Friday night to a woman in a Sterling apartment building. The incident occurred at 8:39 p.m. Friday at an apartment building in the 1600 block of Brethour Court, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.

Loudoun County police are working with the FBI to find the individual who broke into an Ashburn bank early Sunday. The break-in was detected when sheriff's deputies responded at 4:12 a.m. to an alarm at the Wells Fargo Bank, in the 42900 block of Eastern Kingbird Plaza.

Loudoun County officials have announced that temporary lane closures will occur this month on Ashburn Village Boulevard at the intersection of Russell Branch Parkway. The lane closures are required for work being performed by William A. Hazel Inc. for construction of the segment of Russell Branch Parkway between Ashburn Village Boulevard and Ashburn Road south of Route 7. The temporary lane closures are planned to begin on or about Wednesday.
